DeskRhythm for iPhone is now in open beta

Läs på svenska

DeskRhythm started as a web app: a calm way to balance sitting, standing, and moving through your workday, right in your browser. Today there's a native iPhone app too — and it's open for testing on TestFlight.

It's the same product and the same posture. Not a tracker, no streaks to keep, nothing to chase. Just your day, in rhythm — now in your pocket, where a gentle nudge actually reaches you.

What the iPhone app adds

The web app already runs the core rhythm. The native app adds the things that only make sense on a phone:

  • Quiet nudges that reach you. A small local notification at each transition — time to stand, time to move — even when the app is in your pocket. They're scheduled on your device; there's no server and no account behind them.
  • Lock screen and Dynamic Island. The current phase, the time left, and Stand / Pause actions live right on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can act without opening the app.
  • Walking-pad steps in Apple Health. When a walking-pad session ends, DeskRhythm writes a walking workout and a calibrated step estimate to Apple Health. If your pad has no Apple integration and you don't wear a Watch, those desk steps finally count.
  • Switch Rooms by location (optional). If you set up Rooms for different places — a home desk, the office — the app can switch to the right one when you arrive. It's off by default, and the location check stays on your device.

Your history stays on your device and syncs privately through your own iCloud across your Apple devices. We never see it.

How the beta works

  • It's an early TestFlight build — it's changing, and you'll find rough edges. That's the point.
  • It's free, no account, no ads — exactly like the web app.
  • Your data is yours. History lives on-device and syncs only through your private iCloud. DeskRhythm collects nothing.

You'll need Apple's free TestFlight app first (the invite link will prompt you if you don't have it). Once you're in, DeskRhythm installs as a beta build and updates arrive automatically as we ship them.

What feedback helps most

This is the part we genuinely need. As you use it, we're listening for:

  • The rhythm — a nudge at the wrong moment, a phase that didn't switch when you expected, anything that feels off.
  • Apple Health — did your walking-pad steps land correctly after a session?
  • Lock screen and Dynamic Island — did the Stand / Pause actions work when you reached for them?
  • The calm — does it stay out of your way, or does it start to nag? That balance matters more to us than any single feature.

The simplest way to send notes is the Send Feedback option built into TestFlight — it attaches a screenshot and the build details automatically.

We built DeskRhythm to be a calm colleague, not another thing demanding your attention. The phone is where that's hardest to get right — and where it matters most. Thanks for helping us get it there.
